NOVEMBER 2022
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
DECEMBER 2022
Merry Christmas, everyone! (and Happy Billie Holidays...)
31: Dan will be ringing in the New Year with vocalist Elizabeth "Liz" Shapiro and her absolutely stunning band, Lizzy and the Triggermen. As the band name would imply, the focus is Prohibition-era jazz, with naughty, gin-soaked overtones. The venue will be the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Rancho Mirage, lah-de-dah.
The Triggermen include: four horn players (two saxes; trumpet; and Dan's trombone);
four rhythm (piano; guitar; bass; and drums), plus a violinist and Liz Shapiro, who always inspires the guys to play their best. Dan does most of the arranging for the band, and is especially excited about Liz's original songs which he has arranged for the group. Dan is happy to have such a great gig with which to start the New Year!

JUNE 2023
12 - 18: Dan will spend this week around Bonn, Germany, performing with a fun band comprised of longtime friends of Dan's. The group is called the "Swinging Fundus." The odd name translates to "basic equipment," but it can also refer to a theater's wardrobe and prop storage area. Well, that's Dan's story, and he's sticking to it. For more details (including when and where), please visit the band's hip website: https://swinging-fundus.jimdofree.com/

JULY 2023
3 - 8: JAZZIN' JULY WORKSHOP: Dan will return for his...fourteenth? Fifteenth? year as an instructor at this unique jazz workshop. The JJW boasts no less than eight top-notch instrumental instructors, each of whom is respected throughout Europe as a jazz star on his respective instrument. So, there is instruction for all the different instruments found in a typical jazz band: clarinet; sax; trumpet; trombone; guitar; bass; piano; and drums.
For the aspiring vocalists attending the Workshop, American-born Shaunette Hildabrand is on hand to share her knowledge and wisdom based on years of performing experience.
Shaunette and her husband, reedman Frank Roberscheuten produce the JJW. The JJW schedule is arranged to present two classes every day (separate instrument and jazz band instruction), and a jam session (with an open bar!) every night.
Over the years, the Workshop has become much more than an educational music event. Each Workshop feels like a family reunion, with long-time friends reuniting and sharing their experiences. Please consider becoming part of the family. You will feel welcome the moment you arrive! For details: http://www.shaunettehildabrand.com/jazzin-july/
